RealDay Safety Guidelines

1. Safety comes before completing a Prompt

RealDay Prompts invite you to notice things in the real world. They never override:

your personal safety
property rules and permission
local laws
traffic conditions
weather and terrain
wildlife boundaries
your own judgment about what feels safe

If completing a Prompt would put you at unnecessary risk, stop.

2. Prompts are always optional

You may skip, pause, or leave incomplete any Prompt that feels unsafe, impractical, or uncomfortable.

You do not need to explain why. Missing a Prompt may mean a Collection slot stays unfilled or points are not awarded, and that is acceptable.

3. Stay in safe and permitted places

Do not enter:

private property without permission
restricted, hazardous, unstable, isolated, or visibly unsafe areas
active roadways, construction zones, rail corridors, cliffs, flood zones, or areas marked closed

Do not trespass, climb, cross barriers, approach wildlife, enter water, or take physical risks merely to complete a Prompt.

Do not use the app while driving, cycling in traffic, or operating equipment. Stop in a safe place before capturing or reviewing.

4. Do not approach or follow strangers

Prompts should not require approaching, following, observing, or interacting with strangers.

Do not:

approach a stranger to complete a Prompt
follow a stranger
ask a stranger to perform an action for a Prompt
knock on a stranger’s door
enter a stranger’s home, vehicle, workplace, hotel room, or private event

Do not accept transportation or change location merely to complete a Prompt.

5. Children and vulnerable people

No Prompt should require a child or stranger as its subject.

Do not use children as Prompt subjects.

If people appear incidentally in a photo, avoid making identifiable faces or personal details the focus of the image.

Founder Alpha testing in the current private round is adult-only.

6. Photography and privacy

Prefer nature, objects, places, textures, light, environmental details, and your own belongings.

When taking photos:

do not make an identifiable stranger the primary subject without their clear permission
avoid unnecessary identifying details such as readable license plates, home addresses, private documents, mail, name badges, or school identifiers when not needed
do not photograph through windows, into homes, private yards, changing areas, medical settings, or other spaces where people reasonably expect privacy
respect any request not to photograph or to delete an image

Founder Alpha currently stores photos locally on your device and does not publicly share them through RealDay.

Even so, do not publicly post identifiable strangers without clear permission, including outside the app.

Legal permission to take a photo does not automatically make it appropriate for RealDay collection or sharing.

7. Do not exchange personal information for a Prompt

Do not disclose or exchange unnecessary personal information to complete a Prompt, including:

home address
live location
regular routine
phone number
social accounts

Do not enter a stranger’s private location for a Prompt.

8. Do not take unnecessary physical risks

Do not put yourself in traffic, unsafe terrain, dangerous weather, unstable structures, or other unnecessary physical danger merely to complete a Prompt.

RealDay does not require risky behavior, trespassing, or unsafe travel for a Prompt.

9. Stop when something feels unsafe

Leave immediately when a place or interaction feels unsafe, pressured, isolated, or inappropriate.

You do not owe politeness, explanation, or completion of a Prompt when leaving an uncomfortable situation.

Trust your judgment over any progress pressure from Points or Collection completion.

10. RealDay is not an emergency service

RealDay is not:

emergency services
turn-by-turn navigation or hazard detection
medical, mental-health, or caregiving support
a guarantee of safe conditions anywhere

In an emergency, contact appropriate local emergency services.

Do not use support@realday.ca for emergencies. RealDay support is not a rescue or 24/7 service and may not respond immediately.

11. Founder Alpha scope

The current Founder Alpha build focuses on solo Personal Collection testing:

Daily Prompts
local photo capture
local Collection viewing
controlled manual test evaluation

Founder Alpha currently does not include:

Map Missions with live location
Shared Field Tasks or Community features
stranger matching, direct messages, or public profiles
public photo sharing or upload to RealDay servers
Real-World Rewards redemption

Future Map, Community, sharing, and reward systems require separate safety review before they become available. They are not current Founder Alpha features.

12. Report a safety concern

Email support@realday.ca to report:

unsafe Prompt wording
product behavior that encourages unsafe conduct
privacy concerns related to testing
other Alpha safety concerns

Include only the information needed to explain the issue. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive personal information.

RealDay support is for product and testing concerns, not emergencies.
